What we are looking for:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required, two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred and 5+ years of related experience
- Conducts specialized maintenance tasks in the plant solving complex problems and using specialized expertise to bring solutions.
- Has knowledge of basic electrical and controls troubleshooting
- Coaches junior staff on complex maintenance issues within areas of expertise
- Advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and basic to advanced building skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment
- Ability to complete work orders and enter the required paperwork into a computer-based CMMS system
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers and supervisors
Must be able to lift up to ninety (90) lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Support department supervisor by ensuring adherence to planned work schedule.
- Assist in moderating employee issues and escalating appropriately as needed.
- In the absence of supervisor, must be accountable for escalating downtime and safety events to area manager. In the event escalation is attempted without response, escalations must be sent to plant technical manager or plant director.
- Must be able to drive cross-shift collaboration between both hourly and management teams within maintenance department.
- Must be able to coordinate with cross-functional groups (Ops, FSQ, EHS, Sanitation, and Warehouse) to achieve plant goals on a daily basis.
- Must be an active participant in driving maintenance strategies as directed by area manager through the implementation of tactical planning and execution.
- Must be willing to be accountable to personal goals and an active driver of team goals put forth by area supervisor and manager including acceptance of success and guidance feedback to achieve those goals.
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines; troubleshoot malfunctions
- Allocation of personnel resources to downtime events, mechanical issues, and/or events typically supported by the maintenance department.
- Setup and tear down equipment; performs major repairs, construction, fabrication, and installation of new plant equipment
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Remove defective parts by dismantling components using hoists, hand, and power tools
- Performs minor to major maintenance repairs including lifting, positioning and fastening objects using hand tools, power tools, and welding on food equipment to food safe specifications
- Help control downtime by informing production workers of routine maintenance techniques, monitoring compliance.
- Work in a safe manner with a sense of urgency while maintaining a safe and orderly work area.
- Participate in and successfully complete management-assigned training directed at increasing job-related trade skills
- Responsible to collaborate with supervisor to train maintenance employees in keeping all equipment in good repair and regularly serviced
- Must be able to assist in emergency crisis mitigation coordination in the absence of supervisor (Evacuation, fire mitigation, chemical release, and outages, or as requested by senior manager onsite at time of the event).
- Ensure safe work practices are followed by team. Must be able to appropriately engage internal team and cross-functional groups to address safety issues if they arise.
- The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required; including but not limited to bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots
