Maintenance Technician II
This position is primarily responsible for properly maintaining and repairing assigned company production machinery,mechanical equipment, and/or property in a generalist capacity, and may include preventative maintenance, welding andfabrication as needed.
Responsible for maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance of all equipment and assisting in keeping allequipment and facility in good repair to ensure continuous and effective operation as one of the following:production/packaging equipment mechanic, plumber, welder, machinist, fabricator or drafter.
Perform advanced maintenance such as reading mechanical schematics, cut & key a shaft, broach a sprocket, change gearhead, weld stainless metal, use a metal sheer, use a metal bender, cut & make up ends on hydraulic hose, cut & lacebelting and perform & log vibration analysis.
Perform advanced maintenance duties using both hand tools and power tools.
Performs setup and tear down of equipment and may assist with major repairs and/or construction required to plantbuildings and stationary equipment, fabrication of parts, and installation of new plant equipment
Maintains tools, equipment and supplies to maintain an orderly work area according to policies, procedures, andguidelines; ensures all areas are returned to a clean, neat, orderly and safe condition according to policy andprocedures.
Participates in and successfully completes training directed at increasing job-related trade skills as mandated bymanagement/supervisor.
May assist with the training of lower level maintenance employees in keeping all equipment in good repair andregularly serviced.
Assists with welding and fabrication of equipment used for processing and packaging.
Performs all duties in compliance with company policies and procedures and in a safe manner according to State,Federal and company regulations.
Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a mannerconsistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
Years of Related Experience: 3-5 years of related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to perform all duties of Maintenance I; Knowledge of PLC software and ability toperform minor PLC program adjustments on equipment. Basic to advanced electrical skills required such as ability touse a voltage/ohm meter, amp meter, ability to understand and use electrical schematic to determine control wiring,ability to check and troubleshoot single phase and three phase wiring, ability to check heater packs on motor starters and able to check for open circuit in control wing; Arc Flash trained; Basic to advanced building skillsrequired such as ability to join PVC pipe, use an electric drain snake, mix concrete, grout tile troubleshoot dockleveler, ability to add/change oil & troubleshoot/repair an air compressor, repair & maintain forklifts and maintainplant aerial equipment; Ability to be certified as a boiler technician; Ability to read and interpret documents suchas safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete work orders,carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form, and complete required paperwork. Ability to add,subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and calculatefigures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Mechanical knowledge andability to expand knowledge and skills via on-the-job and formal training directed at increasing job-related skillsas mandated by management/Supervisor, including all required OSHA training; basic computer skills, including SAPMaintenance Module; Ability to obtain a valid forklift license; Ability to comply with all general safety policiesand procedures in accordance with Company, Local, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration(OSHA) rules and regulations; Must be able to lift ninety (90) lbs.
