CJ Schwan’s is hiring a Maintenance Manager at our food container factory in Pottstown, PA. In this role you will be responsible for leading all maintenance, tooling, die operations, and thermos forming at our plant. This role ensures maximum uptime, tooling integrity, and safe, efficient production through strong preventive maintenance practices and hands on leadership across presses, dies, and supporting equipment.
What You Will Do:
• Serve as the site technical and reliability leader, accountable for tooling, dies, presses, and overall asset optimization
• Lead strategic and tactical maintenance execution, including reactive, corrective, planned, and condition based maintenance, as well as continuous improvement, EHS, and capital projects initiatives
• Own human safety and food safety performance, ensuring compliance with OSHA, FDA/USDA, GMP, and company standards
• Drive improvements in downtime, OEE, throughput, tooling life, scrap reduction, and maintenance cost
• Lead, develop, and deploy maintenance and tooling teams; ensure effective training, skills development, and workforce utilization
• Manage maintenance budgets, capital projects, storeroom performance, and external vendor and contractor relationships
What We Look For:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience with progressive maintenance experience with leadership included
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience
• Strong expertise in metal forming, stamping, tooling, and die maintenance within a production environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop maintenance teams, manage multiple priorities, and support off shift operations
• Solid working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems, including CMMS tools (e.g., SAP)
• Proven problem solver and change leader with strong project management, communication, and continuous improvement mindset
What We Offer:
The base salary range for this position is $93,000 to $154,000 annually with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus, which is based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
