We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our organization. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading and improving the payroll processes, compliance, and system enhancements, with the opportunity to use ADP’s next-generation HCM and payroll solution, Lifion. As the Payroll Manager, you will provide expert guidance and leadership to a team of payroll administrators, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employee salaries and wages while staying abreast of evolving payroll regulations and industry best practices. This position requires a deep understanding of payroll intricacies, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to navigate complex payroll scenarios. This is a full-time role located in Bloomington, MN.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead and mentor a team of payroll specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Provide expert guidance on complex payroll matters, ensuring the team's professional growth and success.
End-to-End Payroll Operations
- Manage and streamline end-to-end payroll operations for multiple locations, departments, and employee types.
- Conduct thorough reviews and audits of payroll calculations, deductions, and withholdings to ensure compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
- Develop and implement robust payroll policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure accuracy.
Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge
- Stay up-to-date with global payroll laws, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely compliance across all jurisdictions, including accurate and timely submissions of payroll tax filings.
Process Improvement and System Enhancement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity in payroll processes.
- Collaborate with IT teams and external vendors to evaluate, implement, and maintain payroll software and system upgrades.
- Act as a subject matter expert on complex payroll issues and provide effective solutions to resolve discrepancies and challenges.
- Lead projects related to mergers, acquisitions, and internal reorganizations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Finance, IT, and Legal.
- Partner with vendors in identifying and resolving system-related errors.
What we need from you:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in payroll administration.
- Extensive experience in handling complex payroll scenarios and multi-state payroll operations.
- Proven expertise in using advanced payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, SAP, Workday) including configuration, reporting, and integration capabilities.
- Strong analytical mindset and exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Continuous improvement mindset and experience optimizing payroll processes.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Global Payroll Management are preferred.
