The Manager of Dairy Risk Management and Ingredients Sourcing develops and executes long term procurement, sourcing, commodity strategy and risk management for direct material spend across multiple facilities. In this position you will develop and leverage strategic supplier relationships to create a competitive advantage for our business and deliver innovative business solutions. You will execute dairy risk management, supplier negotiations and contract analysis for all assigned categories. The role will partner with internal stakeholders to support their needs and drive category performance while delivering procurement’s cost of goods budget withing annual savings goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish multi-year category strategy for assigned categories
  • Must have - understand market dynamics within the dairy category and the impact of price volatility on the category and business
  • Review impact of economic, trade flow and commodity movements, assessing trends and executing sourcing strategies directed to maximize direct materials savings goals
  • Develop presentation tools to be used in monthly commodity price risk management meetings with CFO, CPO, Director of Commodities and other key Executive Leadership team members
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, assuring optimal TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), service and quality for the business and partners
  • Manage commercial relationship with suppliers
  • Identify and implement cost savings opportunities within the total supply chain of assigned categories
  • Take an active role in partnering with internal stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Marketing, R&D, Quality)
  • Coordinate supplier involvement in product or business development efforts
  • The position responsibilities outlined above are not to be construed as all encompassing. Other duties and responsibilities may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
  • 5 - 10 years of Risk Management and Procurement experience in dairy.
  • Demonstrated experience of commodity hedging withing the food and agriculture, energy or related industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Strong analytical skills (statistics, economics, modeling, and Excel capabilities)
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management, trade groups, and business units
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Travel up to 15%

Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of Risk Management and Procurement experience in dairy.
  • Demonstrated experience of commodity hedging withing the food and agriculture, energy or related industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
