We are seeking a dynamic Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) professional to lead customer-focused quality initiatives that drive product excellence and regulatory compliance. In this key role, you will serve as the primary liaison between our internal teams and customers, overseeing the development and execution of food safety and quality programs that ensure satisfaction, consistency, and continuous improvement. This role blends strategic planning with hands-on leadership to uphold the highest standards in food safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality across our operations.

Responsibilities:

Lead FSQ Customer Programs: Manage and execute food safety and quality programs tailored to customer and brand requirements.

Drive Customer & Consumer Satisfaction: Lead consumer & customer- focused quality initiatives to meet or exceed customer expectations, including complaint process enhancements and KPI tracking.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with customers, internal teams, and manufacturing facilities to align on quality expectations and resolve issues.

Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Oversee adherence to USDA, FDA, HACCP, FSMA, SSOP, and other regulatory and customer-specific standards.

Act as FSQ Representative: Serve as the main point of contact for customers on food safety and quality matters, including audits and issue resolution.

Lead Data-Driven Improvements: Analyze feedback, quality metrics, product testing data and trends to identify issues and areas of opportunity and drive continuous improvement projects.

Develop Strategic FSQ Plans: Create and implement strategic initiatives that align with corporate goals to enhance product quality and food safety.

Support & Train Teams: Train, develop, and lead FSQ staff and cross functional partners while also creating educational materials to ensure consistent understanding and execution.

Maintain Specifications & Documentation: Ensure product and packaging specifications meet customer expectations; manage FSQ documentation systems.

Champion Process Improvement: Apply tools like SPC, Lean, and Six Sigma to reduce defects, improve consistency, and increase operational efficiency.

Travel:  Up to 40% domestically

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety and Technology or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a FSQ Manager role involving manufacturing food, subject to USDA or FDA inspection, or similar FSQ management role.
  • FSQ customer facing role desired

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $$90,750 - $151,250 annually with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus, which is based on organizational performance. The salary range represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
