We are hiring a Sr. Food Technology Scientist to work with our R & D team in Marshall, MN. In this role, you are responsible for researching and developing new ingredient, formula, and processing technologies as well as new applications of existing technologies for commercialization into frozen dough-based products that go into pizza and Asian snacks.
- Researches and develops new technologies that support innovation, quality, and cost saving strategies specific to dough-based foods
- Develops new applications of ingredient or process technologies that can be commercialized to optimize existing products
- Partners with strategic suppliers to identify and collaborate in the development of new ingredient or process technologies
- Provides technical knowledge and expertise to resolve complex ingredient, product, and process issues
- Identifies project scope and develops project work plans and timelines
- Master of Science (U.S. or foreign) or Ph.D. degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Foods & Nutrition Studies, Biological Sciences, or related field
- 2+ years of related experience for those with a Master's degree, or any experience for those with a Ph.D.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of ingredients and their functionality, along with ideally dough formulations and processing
- Strong capabilities in design, execution, and statistical analysis of experiments
- Strong knowledge of analytical methods and ability to operate analytical equipment
- Basic knowledge in thermodynamics, physical chemistry, and process engineering
- Comfortability with researching literature and patents
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $81,750 to $136,250 annually with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to educations, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
