As a Sr. Financial Analyst supporting our Marshall, MN manufacturing complex you will be responsible for conducting and documenting complex financial analysis projects and report to the Sr. Plant Controller.

We are hiring a Sr. Financial Analyst for our Manufacturing complex in Marshall, MN. In this role you will be a key player on the plant financial team providing key analysis and insights to guide decision making as well as taking a leadership role in challenging the plant to improve financial performance.   • Reports, analyzes, forecasts, and interprets financial operating data. This may include profit/loss analysis, cost analysis, market niche reporting, regional performance assessments, customer proposals, rate of return, depreciation, and any other ad-hoc analysis of interest to management.
  • Participates in the preparation and compilation of the annual financial plan which may include functional area specific modeling, time-series analysis, and graphic presentation of both operating and financial data.
  • Prepares complex financial analysis reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.
  • Interprets and applies policies and procedures to new situations.
  • Advises on and recommends to management desirable operational adjustments and interprets budget to actual variance.
  • May perform ROI analysis investments, develops operating metrics, reviews performance to plan and conduct prior year's variance analysis, reviews business unit financial statements and policies to ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines.
  • Assists other Finance and organizational areas with financial matters as required and may serve as a mentor and evaluator of lower level staff.


Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred

Years of Related Experience: Typically has 5-7 years related experience.


  • Advanced PC skills including Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced understanding of financial analysis and accounting policies, procedures, programs, and processes.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient use of automated general ledger systems and reporting tools (SAP, SQL, Cognos, ReportNet, and BEx).
  • Advanced skills in the development of financial ratios and comparative analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of general accounting principles and accepted standards; CPA or pursuit of CPA preferred.
