Maintenance Apprenticeship Program

About the Program:

  • 12-week long Maintenance Apprentice program (Typically May-August)

What you will be doing -

  • Design of automation to Ice Cream Plant freezer palletizing
  • Study of utility/energy usage & identification of savings opportunities
  • Water usage around cooling towers – analyze water in/out
  • Analysis of demand rates at Plastics plant
  • Converting legacy systems (panel view conversions, PLCs) to newer platforms
  • CAD work: Update documentation of plant utilities.
  • Research and documentation of our fire systems in all facilities; both electrically and water supply
  • Work on the usage and documentation of the hot work supply and re-circulation from the Kemco system. Water and energy savings potential. Recommendations on improvements and upgrades
  • Overview of Maintenance, Facility startup, Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
  • Shadow Maintenance Supervisor and Technicians

  • Work with Reliability Engineering

    • CBM Overview

    • Ultrasound Technology

    • Lubrication program

  • Act in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, polices, and other standards of conduct

What the expectations are of you -

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, interpretive, and problem solving skills
  • Must be a confident self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and working within a team environment
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with all business partners
  • Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to evaluate pros and cons of alternative solutions and effectively translate to broad audiences
  • Strong time and project management skills that enable on-time project delivery in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of PLC software and ability to perform minor PLC program adjustments on equipment
  • Basic electrical skills required such as ability to use a voltage/ohm meter, amp meter, using electrical schematic and understanding single phase and three phase wiring.; Arc Flash trained

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to complete work orders, carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form, and complete required paperwork

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and calculate figures

Qualifications

Candidates should currently be enrolled in a maintenance related program (Energy Technology, Robotics)


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret safety documents,  maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to complete work orders and enter the required paperwork into a computer
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers and supervisors
  • Ability to pass a standardized hands-on mechanical aptitude assessment.
  • Must be able to lift up to ninety (90) lbs.
  • Some basic electrical skills preferred
