We’re looking for someone who can work in our CJ Schwan's corporate headquarters in Hopkins, MN. Ideally, you can formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. You’d collect and analyze supply and demand data and develop decision support analytics. You’d also develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for plant capacity plans and supply evaluation, review, or implementation by plant management.
Responsibilities:
Develop and Manage Capacity & Production Plans: Create mid- and long-term capacity plans (13-week and 52-week horizons), establish the master schedule, and ensure production plans align with forecasted demand, labor, and material availability.
Evaluate Demand vs. Plant Capabilities: Assess demand requirements against plant capacity constraints, monitor forecast trends, and engage with demand managers to maintain accurate, reliable demand signals.
Drive Cross-Functional Supply Chain Collaboration: Lead coordination among sales, manufacturing, demand planning, distribution, and purchasing to resolve constraints, schedule changes, low-stock situations, and stock-outs.
Perform Ongoing Performance & Rate Reviews: Track production attainment, conduct quarterly rate reviews, recommend planning-rate adjustments, evaluate manufacturing lot sizes, and support major capital and new-product capacity assessments.
Support S&OP and Strategic Capacity Planning: Provide supply-chain and financial analyses for capacity, inventory, and cost scenarios; contribute to global capacity strategy; and lead monthly planning reviews across business units.
Enhance Tools, Processes & Systems: Maintain ERP expertise, generate ad-hoc reporting, incorporate data/feedback into future plans, and continuously improve capacity-planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Economics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics, Supply Chain Management or a closely related field.
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Intermediate or advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel and intermediate skill level with Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience with Advanced Planning Systems/ERP (JDA/SAP)
- Possess an understanding of supply chain and inventory planning principles.
- Knowledge and experience in manufacturing planning and/or distribution systems.
- Strong analytical skills and basic understanding of financial impact and cost alternatives when assessing inventory and capacity trade-offs.
- Experience preferred with production planning at a large scale/multi-site manufacturer.
- Reporting and querying ability in database tools such as SAP Business Warehouse and BEX.
- Formal supply chain training seminars or APICS certification also preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $73,500 to $122,500 annually with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
