We are hiring a Manager of FSQ Training and Capability Building to work ideally out of our Hopkins, MN headquarters! In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs that ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality systems. This role focuses on building technical expertise, operational excellence, and a strong food safety culture across the organization.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop a comprehensive food safety and quality training roadmap aligned with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, GFSI, FSMA) and company objectives.

  • Define KPIs for training effectiveness and compliance and conduct capability gap assessments for plant teams, QA staff, and leadership.

  • Design and coordinate or deliver training on HACCP, GMPs, allergen control, sanitation, microbiological controls, and quality systems including onboarding programs for new hires and advanced modules for technical experts.

  • Develop methods and measure for training effectiveness verification, e.g. tests and other means of competency assessments, and implement blended learning solutions (classroom, e-learning, remote, on-the-job coaching).

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through training on root cause analysis, statistical process control, and audit readiness.

  • Ensure training programs meet regulatory and certification requirements (SQF, BRC, ISO 22000).
  • Maintain accurate training records for audits and inspections and partner with compliance teams to close gaps identified during audits.

  • Collaborate with plant managers, QA leads, engineering teams, and R&D teams to align training with operational needs.

    Manage relationships with external training providers and certification bodies.

  • Track training completion, competency assessments, and impact on food safety KPIs and report training effectiveness and compliance metrics to leadership.

What We Look For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years in food safety, quality assurance, or training roles within food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, GFSI standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in food safety regulations and quality systems.
  • Strong facilitation and instructional design skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into practical training.
  • Proficiency in LMS platforms and digital learning tools.
  • Analytical skills for measuring training impact.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $125,000 annually with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus, which is based on organizational performance. The salary range represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
