We are hiring an EHS Compliance Specialist to support all employee safety initiatives at our Asian food plant in Beaumont, CA. Our goal is to ensure our employees leave work the same way they came in, or better. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of safety programs, policies, and processes to achieve a workplace free of work-related injuries.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in organizing and administering a comprehensive safety, compliance, and risk management program, including oversight of RMP and PSM initiatives for 24/7 operations.
- Conducts root cause analyses of incidents, recommends corrective actions, and implements coaching, training, or disciplinary measures to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinates compliance activities including PHAs, Mechanical Integrity audits, and MOCs, ensuring all documentation and processes meet OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other regulatory standards.
- Develops, delivers, and enhances safety training programs in partnership with Learning & Development; communicates general safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Facilitates an active safety committee and builds cross-functional partnerships to improve process design, reduce risk exposure, and promote employee engagement.
- Conducts facility and fire protection system inspections, manages the Emergency Action Plan (EAP), and coordinates hazardous materials response team activities and training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred, with a degree ideally in Environmental/Occupational Safety or similar
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Computer experience preferable in Microsoft, Word, Excel, and/or Access.
- Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and other State or Federal program requirements.
- Work experience or education in Occupational Safety and Health Industrial Hygiene and/or Industrial Safety and Health.
- Must be willing to obtain training in safety, PSM, and environmental regulations and related programs.
- Experience with plant operations and processes preferred.
- Able to work in both hot and cold environments.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $58,500 to $97,500 annually with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
